shadow telugu movie review

Title :Shadow (2013) Star Cast : Venkatesh, Tapsee, Srikanth Director : Meher Ramesh Producer : Paruchuri Kireeti Genre : Action – Romance Music : S. Thaman Released on : April 26, 2013. Shadow Review, Shadow Rating, Shadow Movie Review, Shadow Telugu Movie Review, Venkatesh Shadow Review, Venkatesh Shadow Movie review, Shadow Movie Rating, Shadow Film Review, Shadow Telugu Cinema Review, Shadow Live Updates, Shadow Tweet Review Review : Style Full – Substance nil Stories for movies will not come from unknown places. Whatever may be the story, director moulds it, adds necessary attractions to it and makes it entertaining enough for audience to enjoy. If he does not add that new attractions, then the story fizzles out. Besides to that, if director is particular about his style and leaves all other elements, then it will be a problem. Audience will get frightened after watching the movie. Shadow being directed by Meher Ramesh after a disaster like ‘Shakti’, will fall in the same category. He should have diverted fraction of attention which he kept on stylish taking to story, screenplay and artistes performances. By ignoring changing trends and society, story has been filled with old time elements like relationships and sentiments. In crisp, its a story of son taking revenge on his father’s killers. If we get into the story, Raghubabu(Nagababu) is an undercover journalist. To know the details of Mafia operations in India, he joins in their group and prepares a report named ‘Shadow.’ He gives it to his brother-in-law Surya to get printed at a press. Press owner Sayaji Shinde sells it to mafia. Mafia leader (Aditya Pancholi) kills Raghuram. In this situation Raghuram’s son Rajaram (Venkatesh), wife and daughter (Madhurima) split away. After growing up, Rajaram starts killing mafia leader, his men and the police officer (Nagineedu) who helped mafia. Meanwhile, psychologist (MS Narayana) and his student Madhubala (Tapsee) meet him. On the otherside ACP (Srikant) tries to curb mafia activities and catch Shadow. When Shadow enquires about him, he gets to know that ACP is his brother-in-law. From then on, he closely follows ACP and saves him. Can’t you guess, which way a routine story like this will go? It ends by punishing the guilty. Director Meher Ramesh tried to make the movie as a comedy entertainer to suit the present generation. He sincerely did the job in first half. He mixed action and comedy scenes nicely. He has depended on MS Narayana to a great extent. But in the second half, it might have struck to Meher Ramesh that Venkatesh is the hero in film. He has placed heavy doses of sentiment in the name of sister and mother. As a result comedy went out of track. Cinema took a different track from here. Don’t know what’s the reason, whether casting is wrong or director has no stamina, Venky appears misfit for a dynamic role like this. The josh in fights designing is not visible in him. Even in songs, Venky just stood like that. It’s known how Venky performs in sentiment scenes. Some scenes as Chanti will bring laughs. Tapsee did whatever she was asked to do. Tapsee wore petty clothes, danced in an item song and freely exhibited her assets. But the sad part is, cinematography could not elevate her glamour and wasted her. Though MS Narayana played a major part he went overboard. All other actors are just present. As Meher Ramesh expressed earlier, stylish picturisation, mafia backdrop, six get ups for Venky, huge fights, all are there. But what’s missing is the soul of the film. Director could not extract good performances from actors. Could not mould scenes well. Barring two or three punches and comedy scenes, Kona Venkat and Gopi Mohan dialogues are ordinary. Prasad Murella concentrated on effects in cinematography rather than being effective. Taman’s music is passable. As usually, re-recording sounds solid. On the whole, except some comedy in the first half ,there is nothing in Shadow, which can make your visit to the theatre worthy.
